Exchange Server 5.5 and Outlook Web Access Installation
- Prepare NT Server for Exchange Server and Active Server Component
installation
- Install NT Server
- Install latest Service Pack
- Install Internet Information Server 4.0 (IIS) from NT Option Pack 4.
- Install Exchange Server 5.5, including Active Server Components for Outlook
Web Access (OWA)
- Add the required permissions to allow users access
- Run User Manager for Domains
- From the Policies menu, select User Rights...
- From the Right pull-down menu, select Access this computer from the
network
- Click on the Add button
- Highlight the IIS user account and click Add
- Highlight the Everyone group, click Add, and click OK
- From the Right pull-down menu, select Log on locally
- Click on the Add button
- Highlight the IIS user account and click Add
- Highlight the Everyone group, click Add, and click OK
- Click OK to close out the User Rights dialog box
- Close User Manager for Domains.
- Modify EXCHSRVR directory permissions
- Set EXCHSRVR/WEBDATA and all sub-directories to READ
- Set EXCHSRVR/WEBTEMP and all sub-directories to CHANGE
- Turn on HTTP protocol in Exchange
- Run Exchange Administrator
- Select a Site, highlight Protocols, and select HTTP Site Settings
- Verify that Enable Protocol is checked on
- Configure Active Server Component
